Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Monday morning toured the scene of a building collapse at Avenor, accompanied by Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak and the Greater Accra Regional Minister, to assess the situation and receive updates on ongoing rescue operations.
Emergency response teams briefed the Vice President that two individuals have so far been rescued alive. Search and rescue efforts remain underway to locate and retrieve others who are still believed to be trapped under the rubble.
Expressing the government’s deep concern for all those affected, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang extended her sympathies to the victims and their families. She also praised the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, National Ambulance Service, Accra Metropolitan Assembly, and other first responders for their professionalism, dedication, and swift intervention.
