Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of 16-year-old Ghanaian winger Clifford Nana Boadi Kusi Gyamfuaa, securing one of the most highly rated young talents in Spanish youth football.

The teenager joins from Catalan side CF Damm, where he had been developing since leaving Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy in 2023. Nana will officially become part of Real Madrid’s youth setup ahead of next season.

From Ghana to La Masia

Born in Ghana, Nana first showcased his footballing ability at the renowned La Maria Football Academy, where his speed, dribbling skills and attacking flair quickly marked him out as a standout prospect. His performances earned him an opportunity to continue his development in Spain, a move that would ultimately transform his career.

He spent time within Barcelona’s La Masia academy—one of the most respected youth systems in world football—before departing in 2023 in search of a new pathway for his development. The move to CF Damm provided him with regular opportunities to grow, and his progress has now been rewarded with a transfer to one of Europe’s most prestigious club setups.

Impressive Numbers at Youth Level

During the 2025/26 season, Nana played for Damm’s Cadete A side and emerged as one of the team’s standout attacking players. He scored six goals in 15 league appearances, consistently troubling defenders with his pace, creativity and ability to score crucial goals.

Operating primarily from wide areas, the right-footed winger has earned a reputation for his explosive acceleration, close ball control and confidence in one-on-one situations. Scouts have highlighted his ability to beat opponents with direct dribbling and use his speed to make dangerous runs in the final third. Combined with his physical strength and finishing ability, those qualities have made him one of the most closely watched prospects in his age group.

A Blow to Barcelona

The signing represents more than just an acquisition for Real Madrid’s youth ranks—it is also a notable blow to their fiercest rivals. Nana was developed at Barcelona’s La Masia until 2023, and Madrid have now secured a player who was once part of the Blaugrana’s famous academy system.

Considered one of the most promising young wingers in Spanish football, the Hispano-Ghanaian talent has been identified by Real Madrid as a player worth investing in for the long term. Club officials believe he has the potential to become an important player in the years ahead.

What Comes Next

Nana will join Real Madrid’s academy structure at Valdebebas, where he will continue his development among some of the country’s top young talents. The teenager is expected to begin his journey within the youth ranks, with the club focused on moulding his raw potential into a player capable of eventually challenging for a place at the highest level.

For Ghanaian football fans, the move represents another proud moment, highlighting the country’s continued production of talented young players capable of competing at the highest level. Nana’s journey from Ghana to La Masia, on to CF Damm and now to Real Madrid is only just beginning—but for the teenage winger, a lifelong dream has already become reality.
