The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has declared 48-year-old Frank Danquah wanted in connection with suspected narcotics-related offences and is appealing to the public for information that could help locate him.

According to a public notice published on the Commission’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, Danquah was born on 11 September 1978. NACOC is urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Commission on its toll-free hotline, 0800 307 307.

The notice did not disclose the specific offences for which Danquah is being sought, nor did it state whether he is linked to any particular ongoing investigation or case. NACOC reminded the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Individuals placed on NACOC’s wanted list may be sought in connection with offences under the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2020 (Act 1019). These include the importation or exportation of narcotic drugs or plants, unlawful possession or control of such substances, and prohibited business involving narcotic drugs or plants.

The declaration comes amid heightened public and political attention on Ghana’s efforts to combat drug trafficking. Earlier in September 2026, French authorities intercepted a consignment of about 3.9 tonnes of suspected cocaine that had been shipped from Ghana and was discovered at the port of Dunkirk. The seizure, valued in some reports at around US$261 million or €225 million, triggered a series of domestic investigations and arrests.

Several suspects were subsequently remanded in connection with that case. Prosecutors alleged that containers had undergone scanning at the Tema Port before being released for export despite abnormalities reportedly detected in the scan images. NACOC has stated that some of the Ghanaian suspects had been under surveillance for an extended period before their arrests and that the operation was intelligence-led. A Dutch national, Jos Leijdekkers (also known as “Bolle Jos”), remains at large in relation to the network.

However, NACOC has not indicated that Frank Danquah is among those being investigated or prosecuted in connection with the France-bound cocaine shipment. His inclusion on the wanted list relates generally to suspected narcotics-related offences, with the Commission yet to release further public details about the allegations against him.

The development adds to ongoing scrutiny of Ghana’s narcotics control systems, border security and inter-agency coordination at a time when authorities continue to investigate international trafficking routes that allegedly pass through the country’s ports.
