Miracle vs Thunder set to ignite Accra as Bishop Boxing Promotions turns one with Cruiserweight

Ghana’s burgeoning boxing scene takes center stage on August 28, 2026, as Bishop Boxing Promotions celebrates its first anniversary with a cruiserweight collision poised to shake the Bukom district to its foundations.

Headlining Best of Bukom 4, the promotional outfit’s latest marquee event, is a long-anticipated showdown between two of the country’s most decorated big men: Obodai “The Miracle” Sai and Haruna “Thunder” Mohammed. The two titleholders will settle their rivalry in a bout that carries the weight of a heavyweight attraction while competing at the cruiserweight limit.

For Sai, a two-time WBO Africa champion, the fight represents another chance to cement his legacy against elite domestic opposition. Mohammed, the reigning WABU cruiserweight titleholder, enters with knockout intentions and a reputation for explosive finishes.

The undercard will feature a deep roster of emerging prospects and battle-tested veterans, with the promotion promising tightly contested matchups designed to deliver consistent drama from the opening bell. Venue details remain under wraps as organizers scout a location capable of handling surging demand from both local fans and the diaspora.

“We wanted to build something that lasts — not just one-off events,” said Dave Bishop, CEO of Bishop Boxing Promotions. “This card is a statement. Two champions, no easy fights, and a platform that pushes Ghana boxing forward. Year one was the start. This is the next step.”

Presented by MaxTV, Best of Bukom 4 is scheduled for August 28, 2026. Ticket sales, media accreditation, and additional fight announcements will be released via BishopBoxingPromotions.com.
