The Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has led a delegation from the Ministry to inspect progress on two key affordable housing projects developed by the National Homeownership Fund (NHF) at Shai Hills and Tema Community 22.

The visit, which formed part of the Ministry’s monitoring and evaluation drive, assessed the final stages of construction for both estates. Hon. Adjei expressed satisfaction with the works, noting that the projects are set to deliver much-needed housing units to Ghanaians within weeks.

According to officials on site, the 50-unit estate at Shai Hills is now 98% complete. Concurrently, the larger 129-unit development under Phase III at Tema Community 22 has reached 95% completion. With both projects in their finishing stages, they remain on track for commissioning later this month.

The Minister was accompanied by technical directors and officials from the NHF, who briefed him on the timelines and quality assurance measures being implemented.

NHF to Host National Homeownership Fair

In a related development aimed at boosting access to housing, Hon. Adjei also used the occasion to rally support for an upcoming NHF initiative. The National Homeownership Fund has announced it will host a Housing Fair from the 4th to the 5th of March 2026. The two-day event is scheduled to take place at the premises of the old Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in Accra .

The fair is designed to serve as a one-stop shop for prospective homeowners, providing a platform to directly engage with real estate developers and financial institutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore various mortgage plans and homeownership options, facilitating a smoother path to acquiring a home .

Hon. Adjei encouraged the public, particularly first-time buyers, to take advantage of the fair, emphasizing the government’s commitment to making homeownership a reality for more Ghanaians.
