Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has revealed he is considering offers from both the English Premier League and the Saudi Pro League following his contract expiration at Spanish side Real Oviedo.

The 28-year-old, who impressed for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is now a free agent after his deal with Oviedo ran out on June 30. In an exclusive interview with 3Sports, Sibo confirmed that several clubs are vying for his signature.

“I have offers from the Premiership. I have offers from the Saudi Premier League. So I’m looking forward to those offers within this week. I will know because I feel like I’m still young. I’m 28. I’m not old,” Sibo said.

A remarkable journey

Sibo’s rise has been nothing short of extraordinary. Born on June 24, 1998, in Wa, Ghana, he began his career at Cheetah FC before securing a move to Europe in 2018. He has since enjoyed spells at Urartu, Watford, Skënderbeu, UD Ibiza, Real Betis, Amorebieta and Real Oviedo.

His arrival at Oviedo in 2024 proved instrumental as the club secured promotion to Spain’s top flight after a 24-year absence. Sibo made 26 La Liga appearances in the 2025/2026 season, though Oviedo were relegated back to La Liga 2.

World Cup breakthrough

Sibo was one of the revelations of Ghana’s World Cup campaign. After coming off the bench against Panama, he earned a starting place against England, where he produced a composed display against Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.

“The moment I saw my name was part in the 26-man squad, I was just crying,” Sibo recalled of his selection. “I was like, God, thank you for everything that you have done for me, because this is a big blessing for me, for the family, for my friends”.

He featured in all four of Ghana’s matches at the tournament, accumulating 249 minutes of action.

Champions League ambition

Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, Sibo has made clear his desire to remain in Europe and compete at the highest level.

“I still have the strength to be in Europe, to compete,” he told 3Sports. “If my agent is able to find a team that will be competing in the Champions League, compete in the European Cup, I’m always at service and I’m ready to face that challenge to play in the Champions League”.

Greek giants PAOK have opened direct negotiations with the midfielder, presenting a two-year contract offer that includes the prospect of UEFA Europa League football. However, Sibo is carefully considering all proposals before making a decision.

A dream to win a cup for Ghana

Beyond his club future, Sibo has his sights set on ending Ghana’s 44-year wait for an Africa Cup of Nations title.

“There’s always one thing that I want to feel it in my heart. I want the nation to also feel it in their heart. It’s to win a cup for the nation,” he said. “That’s a dream and I want that dream to manifest”.

With a market value estimated at around €1.5 million, Sibo is expected to finalise his next move before the end of the week.
