The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the United Kingdom to transform the country’s education sector.

The Minister made this known when he hosted the British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Christian Rogg, at the Ministry in Accra. What began as a courtesy call evolved into a productive engagement focused on strategic partnerships aimed at expanding access, improving quality, and promoting equity in education.

During the meeting, Hon. Iddrisu outlined key reforms currently being rolled out across all levels of education. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve foundational learning outcomes, accelerate infrastructure development, and foster innovation. According to the Minister, these initiatives are part of a broader vision to build a resilient education system capable of equipping Ghanaian youth with the skills and competencies required to thrive in a competitive global landscape.

The Minister also emphasized Ghana’s openness to strong, credible, and mutually beneficial partnerships. He noted that the government is committed to supporting institutions and organizations willing to collaborate or extend training opportunities within the country, provided such initiatives align with national priorities and contribute meaningfully to skills development.

The British High Commissioner reportedly responded positively, expressing the United Kingdom’s readiness to deepen its collaboration with Ghana.

According to a statement from the Ministry, engagements such as these are vital in translating policy intentions into tangible outcomes that directly benefit students and the broader education sector.
