An industrial fire has gutted a factory and warehouse in Prampram, Greater Accra Region, triggering a major emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service.
Firefighters from Prampram, Devtraco, Ashaiman, and the Tema Regional Headquarters have been deployed to the scene and are working to bring the late-afternoon inferno under control.
The fire broke out around midday on Friday, May 1, 2026. As of 7 p.m., crews were still making frantic efforts to contain the flames, protect nearby structures, and safeguard lives.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service’s Tema Regional Command, additional fire tenders have been dispatched to reinforce the ongoing operation. No casualties have been reported so far, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Officials have urged residents and motorists to avoid the area to allow emergency responders unhindered access.
