Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta under pressure to lead summer squad overhaul

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is facing mounting pressure as the club prepares for a potentially significant squad overhaul ahead of the summer transfer window, with financial considerations expected to drive major player departures.

According to sources, the North London club is pursuing multiple strategies behind the scenes, balancing the need for new signings with the necessity of generating revenue through outbound transfers. The situation places Berta, who oversees the club’s transfer operations, at the center of what is shaping up to be a defining period for Arsenal’s long-term trajectory.

The club is understood to be adopting a cautious financial approach, which could require substantial player sales to fund reinforcements. Sources suggest that very few first-team players are considered untouchable heading into the window, underscoring the scale of the potential changes on the horizon.

The anticipated reshuffling comes as manager Mikel Arteta continues to build toward sustained success in both domestic and European competitions. While no specific deals have been confirmed, several players are believed to be under review as part of a broader strategy to streamline the squad and create flexibility for new additions.

Berta’s role will be critical in ensuring that the club strikes a balance between financial sustainability and on-field competitiveness. The summer window is expected to serve as a key test of Arsenal’s ability to execute strategic planning under the club’s evolving leadership structure.

With the transfer window approaching, decisions made in the coming months are likely to have a lasting impact on Arsenal’s direction for future seasons.
