Ronaldinho backs Messi as world’s best hopes for World Cup ‘wonders’

In a recent statement that has captured the attention of football fans worldwide, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has reaffirmed his belief that Lionel Messi remains the finest player on the planet.

“Lionel Messi is still the best player in the world for me,” Ronaldinho said. The former Barcelona superstar, who played alongside a young Messi at Camp Nou and witnessed his rise firsthand, did not hold back in his praise for the Argentine icon.

With the FIFA World Cup on the horizon, Ronaldinho expressed a personal hope to see his former teammate arrive in peak condition. “I hope he arrives strong for the World Cup,” Ronaldinho added, “so he can do wonders for us.”

The use of “us” by the Brazilian great is particularly striking, suggesting that despite their historic national rivalry, Ronaldinho views Messi’s success on football’s biggest stage as a victory for the beautiful game itself. The comment has sparked widespread reaction, with fans interpreting it as a sign of deep respect between two of the sport’s most celebrated figures.

As Messi continues to perform for Inter Miami and Argentina’s national team, Ronaldinho’s words add to the growing chorus of voices eager to see the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner add a second World Cup title to his legendary career.
