Ghana has taken a significant step towards preparing its workforce for the future of industry, hosting a major capacity-building workshop focused on robotics and automation.

The event, which was officially launched on Saturday, 14th March 2026, brought together a diverse group of participants, including students, engineers, and tech enthusiasts, to engage in hands-on training and knowledge sharing. The initiative underscores a national push to integrate advanced technological skills into the country’s human capital development agenda.

The workshop aimed to equip attendees with practical skills in designing, programming, and maintaining automated systems and robotics. By fostering local expertise, Ghana seeks to position itself as a competitive player in the global digital economy and attract technology-driven investments.

Participants took part in a series of interactive sessions, exploring the applications of automation in key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and services. The group photograph from the launch captured the enthusiastic spirit of the attendees, representing a cross-section of Ghanaian innovators ready to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This initiative aligns with broader governmental and private sector efforts to bridge the skills gap in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). As industries worldwide increasingly turn to automation to boost productivity, Ghana is proactively working to ensure its citizens are not left behind.

By strengthening robotics and automation skills, the country is not only enhancing individual employability but also building a foundation for locally-driven innovation and industrial enterprise.
