“Believe in us and keep us in your prayers” – Black Princesses coach Charles Sampson vows to secure Poland 2024 ticket

Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson has issued a passionate rallying cry to Ghanaians, urging for unwavering support and prayers as his team prepares for the decisive final leg of their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign against Uganda.

Speaking exclusively to Afroasia Media, a confident yet grounded Sampson called on the nation to stand firmly behind the young female warriors, insisting that their dream of booking a ticket to Poland is very much alive.

“The message is for them to still believe in us and keep us in their prayers, and then we will go and do our utmost best to make the nation and ourselves proud,” Sampson said, appealing directly to the Ghanaian public.

Ghana’s U-20 women’s side face a high-stakes showdown in Uganda, with a spot at the global stage in Poland hanging in the balance. Despite the pressure of an away fixture, the head coach made no secret of his ambitions, boldly predicting a celebration upon the team’s return.

“I’m expecting us to get our ticket to Poland in Uganda, and when we come back, I’m expecting a euphoria because the girls deserve that,” he declared.

Sampson emphasized that the squad has endured a grueling journey and that qualification would be just reward for their sacrifice and resilience. He portrayed the upcoming clash not just as a match, but as a moment to etch the team’s name in national lore.

The Black Princesses have long been a source of pride for Ghanaian football, and Sampson is determined to restore their place among the world’s elite. His message was clear: belief and prayer at home, followed by relentless effort on the pitch.

Ghana will face Uganda away in the final round of qualifiers, with the winner securing Africa’s representative at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
