Bayern Munich star Michael Olise faces paternity storm after ex-partner claims he has never seen their 20-month-old daughter

Barely a week after France’s run to the World Cup semi-finals, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise has been plunged into a personal crisis. German newspaper Bild has published a front-page interview with 34-year-old Fatima Zaunbrecher, who claims the 24-year-old football star is the father of her 20-month-old daughter—and that he has never once laid eyes on the child.

According to Zaunbrecher, she met Olise four years ago on Instagram when he was still playing for Crystal Palace. The two began a long-distance relationship, with Zaunbrecher flying regularly from her home in Düsseldorf to London. She says the relationship lasted nearly two years before she ended it over suspicions of infidelity.

Two weeks after the breakup, she discovered she was pregnant. Olise reportedly requested a paternity test, which was conducted in Munich and confirmed he was the father.

Despite officially acknowledging paternity, Zaunbrecher alleges that Olise has never visited their daughter, Aaliyah Noor, and that all communication now flows exclusively through lawyers.

“It destroys me to see how heartless someone can be towards their own child,” she told Bild.

Zaunbrecher claims that when she sent Olise a photo of their newborn daughter, he did not respond. She also alleges that one of his lawyers wrote to her advising that she should buy second-hand clothes for the child to better manage on the money she had.

Another lawyer reportedly told her it was “not productive” for their client to see the child.

Child support dispute erupts

The situation has escalated into a legal battle over child support. Bild reports that Olise earns approximately €14 million per year at Bayern Munich. Zaunbrecher claims his lawyers initially offered just €836.50 per month—a sum she described as “ridiculously low” and “absurd”.

The offer was later increased to €2,000 per month, but Zaunbrecher says she has never received a single payment.

“I sent my bank details to his lawyer so they could transfer the €2,000, at least until the court decides the exact amount he should pay monthly. The rest is defamation,” she said.

Currently living with her daughter at her mother’s home without a car to take the child to medical appointments, Zaunbrecher said she decided to go public out of desperation. “I stayed silent for a long time, but I decided to make the case public. I don’t know what else to do,” she added.

Olise’s camp hits back

Olise’s legal team has denied the accusations. They claim the player offered assistance from the outset and remains open to an amicable agreement.

Sources close to Olise told Bild that he has never refused contact with his daughter or Zaunbrecher. His representatives also allege that Zaunbrecher demanded €60,000 per month in maintenance before French courts—a demand that was unsuccessful—while Olise offered to pay an amount exceeding the maximum legally permitted in Germany.

A star at the peak of his powers

The scandal could not have come at a more sensitive moment for the French international. Olise was one of the standout performers at the 2026 World Cup, providing seven assists—a record for a single tournament.

At club level, he recently completed a stellar season with Bayern Munich, scoring 25 goals and providing 28 assists in 57 competitive appearances. His contract runs until 2029, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

For a player known for guarding his private life fiercely—his Instagram feed contains almost exclusively football-related content—the public airing of these allegations represents an unwelcome disruption.

Olise has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
