The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced the immediate closure of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) to facilitate urgent renovation works.

In a public notice issued on Friday, March 27, 2026, the Ministry stated that the facility would be temporarily shut down effective immediately to allow for essential upgrades aimed at ensuring the safety and long-term functionality of the landmark venue.

No date has been provided for the centre’s reopening. Officials indicated that the public will be informed in due course once the renovations are complete and the facility is ready to receive visitors again.

The AICC is one of the capital’s premier venues, serving as a key location for high-level diplomatic summits, trade exhibitions, and major national events. Since its inauguration, it has hosted numerous international gatherings, making its temporary closure a significant development for the city’s events landscape.

In its statement, the Ministry apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality public service.
